B.Sc in Molecular Biology ...

The techniques of molecular genetics are now being applied to nearly every major field of biology- from neurophysiology to botany and from immunology to forensics. The science of molecular biology underlies all phenomena; living things abide by all the laws of physics and chemistry. The physical and chemical behavior of elementary particles ultimately defines the parameters of behavior of any complex biological system: a bacterium, a plant, a frog or a human being. Historically, biology was based on direct observation of complex natural phenomena in the real World. The development of molecular biology was a large part driven by the quest to find increasingly purer and more powerful abstraction of essential biological processes. Students have to take Chemistry & Computer Application subjects as Compulsory for first two years (for 1st to 4th Semesters).

One project on Biodiversity should be done individually or in a group under the guidance of one faculty on any topic related to the subject after one Educational tour (Biodiversity Hotspot place) to any place of India (the duration of tour will be at least 3-5 days at the spot depending upon the information/sample collection of project work. The work will be documented & also presented by the candidate in front of externals in a seminar.

Another Lab-based project work (Dissertation) should be done individually under the guidance of one faculty on any topic related to the subject & can be recorded as dissertation & also be presented by the candidate in front of externals in a seminar.
